Author Biography

Sonja Dolinsek

Sonja Dolinsek is a Research Associate in 20th Century and Contemporary History at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany. Her current research focuses on the transnational politics of sexual labour and anti-trafficking in the second half of the twentieth century. She has co-edited two major publications—one with Magdalena Saryusz-Wolska titled Histories of Prostitution in Central, East Central and South Eastern Europe (Paderborn, 2023); and a special issue with Siobhán Hearne titled ‘Prostitution in Twentieth Century Europe’, European Review of History, vol. 29, issue 2, 2022. Her most recent publication is a commented source collection, with Annalisa Martin, of a recently deceased German male sex worker, Stefan Hülsmann: Beruf Sexarbeit: Quellen und Dokumente aus dem Nachlass von Marc-of-Frankfurt (2000–2015) (2025). Her work combines an emphasis on gender, race, class, and capitalism within a transnational and global lens.
